The Nursing Home Diaries: Cellulitis and Lymphedema

Last week I came down very ill. I had the cold shakes, I couldn't get enough to drink, and my left leg started turning red and was inflamed. Off to the hospital to be poked and prodded until my arms were filled needle holes and bruised.

The Nursing Home Diaries: Cravings

Well I am supposed to be on a diet in this place. However, the quality of food here is predominantly processed foods served with tons of gravy or mixed with loads of mayo. They supposedly have me on small portions. Sometimes they are small. Other times they look like everyone else's portion size.

Who Wants to See 'Happy Death Day' Next Friday the 13th?

I've just begun seeing commercials for this new horror movie coming out on Friday, October 13, 2017 (cue slasher music). Then today Universal Pictures was kind of enough to send me images and production details about the upcoming horror flick to share with you guys. So, are you ready?

The Nursing Home Diaries: Allergy, Cold, and Sinus

This week has not been a fun week for me one tiny little bit. The change in weather got me. My allergies started acting up, then I caught a cold, and a sinus infection set in.

Nursing Home Diaries: UTIs, Gall Bladders, and Kitchen Troubles

My goodness! It has been a while since I wrote a post about my stay. My eye strain prevents me from blogging as much as I want to. It is a bit easier because I changed the screen resolution on laptop. I know you are all thinking why haven't I made an appointment with an eye doctor yet? More things have happened.

The Nursing Home Diaries: Pain and Irritability

Today I feel like crap. I am so tired and I am so sore. I don't like this feeling but I know it will last for some time. I am finally giving my body the workout it has been denied for three years.

The Nursing Home Diaries: Entry One

It's been a while since I've posted anything to this blog because most of my work comes through Fashion's Sense. My current situation is rectifying that. I am currently in a nursing home and my situation is truly a case of being between sunshine and rain. I am going to use this blog as journal of sorts during this time.

A to Z Movies: Django Unchained

This is a late post for the Blogging from A to Z Challenge for "D" day. I had a hard time finding a "D" letter movie that I wanted to write about. I settled on Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" starring Jamie Foxx as Django.

A to Z Movies: Coming to America

For many black adults who came up in the 80s and 90s there are two movies that we know inside and out. One is "The Color Purple" and the other is "Coming to America". You will hear random references to these two movies in daily conversation, on TV, and in memes. For this post, I will give you some of the more quotable scenes from the movie.

Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo

I love old school hip-hop. I miss all those older movies that depict the golden age of the musical genre. I couldn't decide if I wanted to write about the "Breakin'" movies or "Beat Street". Even as I write I am tempted to switch back to "Beat Street". I am sticking with the "Breakin'" films.

A to Z Films: About a Boy (2002)

Today is for the letter "A" and I am going to talk about the movie, "About A Boy" starring Hugh Grant and Toni Collette. I really like this movie and still watch it quite often since I own the DVD. I think it is one of Hugh Grant's underrated films.

Blogging from A to Z Theme Reveal: Movie Time

I love the Blogging from A to Z challenge when it comes to this blog in particular. I spend so much time on Fashion's Sense content that I am tired and forget about this blog. This challenge allows me to focus on BSAR at least for 26 days giving it content to help build the blog up a bit. Since I had so much fun last year with the TV theme, I decided to stick within entertainment and do movies this year.
